I love Virgencitas and a Giveaway!

I got up and got the kids ready for school. I made breakfast and waited for my husband to be back from dropping the kids off at school. (If anyone is interested, I made pancakes...any who)I sat down at the breakfast table and decided to sketch while I had my coffee and breakfast. My husband stared at me from across the table and kept staring at my doodles. When I was done, I showed him the finished work at Voila! I made a new Virgencita. He said he liked it...Of course...he is my number one fan and supporter! :-) Okay so, I will be giving away a print of the above Virgencita just comment and I will be raffling it on September 27, 2010! :-)

Anyways, I love painting Virgencitas, drawing them etc...I have a lot of faith and find a lot of peace when I make a new Virgencita. I have a story about my dogs whom I lost this week. :-( My sister found one of them but my shih tzu was still missing. I was sad, depressed, worried, everything you can think of, I went to my room and got one of my canvases with a Virgencita half finished...I said to myself "I will not give up on you virgencita...I will finish you today." As I started painting it....I prayed with all my heart and soul and asked her "please virgencita, just let me find kitty"(my shih tzu). So an hour passed and I received a phone call, someone had found my kitty and I gave the reward and I thanked the virgencita a million time and this is the painting of her. So, I will continue painting virgencitas and I will be careful with my dogs, which by the way wasn't my fault but the husbands! ha ha Okay guys see ya later! :)

It's September 13, 2010 and I am ecstatic to be back! I have so much to show you guys. First of all, I'd like to say that I have been distracted by life's ups and downs this year and haven't been posting, but now I have my life in order and will not abandon my blog and friends for so long. I should say that Art is therapeutic and a very big part of my life, somehow without it, I feel incomplete. So, I started painting again and here are some new paintings which I showed at ART IN THE PARK 2010. :-) Hope you enjoy them! Bye :-)

Hello to all my blogger followers and friends. I haven't been on here for a while...I need to set my priorities and realize that painting is my life and I need to work harder to accomplish that. That will be one of my New Years resolution work harder paint more! But first lets talk about Christmas. Christmas is a wonderful time for me. I love to decorate the house, put up the Christmas tree. I love the smell of scented candles in my home. I love how the kids help out and make their own ornaments. The only thing I haven't done is any Christmas shopping! I am such a procrastinator but eventually I will get to it. :) I also wanted to share a few sweet images with you...I have had a hard time painting Angels but somehow they have been cooperating with me and I love the results and their sweet faces. Madonna's or Virgenes have always been my favorite to paint. Their look is always tender and warm. I definitely will paint them forever. Well hope you all have a wonderful weekend and see you next time. :)

Halloween is Over...Sigh

Well, what else can I do but share our awesome costumes for this year with you all! :)

I decided this year to be Frida and a Dia de Los Muertos Skull.

Here we are...my sister and I, a crazy pair of girls ready to go trick or treating with the kids! My sister is dressed as a ventriloquist dummy! I made her tiny top hat! :D

And last but not least THE KIDS! From Left to right is: My Brothers son dressed as a pirate, My son dressed as Jason from Friday the 13th, My other son dressed as Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm St., My sister's daughter dressed as a Butterfly Princess, and last is my daughter dressed as a cute vampire bat yet she says she prefers to be a Fruit Bat! Haha

Well hope that everyone has a wonderful day and I will blog again as soon as I finish a Frida painting I am working on. :)

Ahhhh!!! It's Almost Halloween!

Hello my Darlings...I'm back after quite some time and missed you all very much but I have some goodies to share with you all. Like always, I am extremely late doing all the Halloween costumes/crafts. To tell you that I barely finished my son's Jason Mask!

Well first of all, I am the kind of person that loves to buy something cheap and turn it into something better. Okay so, I bought this cheapo hockey mask at Walmart for $2. I then wanted to add more texture so I glued wrinkled tissue paper to the mask and then I painted it. I used acrylics, Antique polish, and colored pencils. and that's about it! Easy Easy!
Okay so now I must go and finish my sisters top hat for her ventriloquist dummy costume. My husband says "Well, she has the dummy part already!" HA HA So funny! Okay I will share the hat once I'm done! BYE!!! Oh...I am debating whether to be Frida or a Sugar Skull? Maybe I can be both! Nah...I don't know. Bye Everyone!

A treasure of pictures...

Hello Everyone!

This weekend I went to an open market...I love flea markets and everything that means that I will be the owner of a certain piece of treasure. Like they say "One person's trash is another person's treasure." Well, I was browsing and found these wonderful photographs...aren't they wonderful?!

I don't know who they are, and neither did the seller but now they have a permanent loving home with me...:)
Has anyone ever found something that is now your own treasure?

Hello! How awesome it is to be blogging again! I am such a slow poke in posting new art...well, with me being the kids chauffeur/chef/etc... I barely have time to paint, but I finished something today! Yey! It is a mixed media heart with fairies and all sorts of good stuff on it...but the magical and sweetest thing I have ever made is:

The small painting is about 3x3 and my eyes were cross eyed by the time I was done! LOL Well, I hope everyone is being very creative and their imagination are going full blast so wonderful things can be created! Peace ! :)

Hello my lovely friends! I just want to post a video of Art In The Park and say that it was a successful outcome for my sister and I! We sold quite a bit and are very appreciative of all the people that loved and purchased our work.

My goal: is to make someone feel happy or smile when they see my paintings. I love to see little girls faces light up when they see my fairies or mermaids...it is a wonderful feeling.
My husband once told me that I live in a fantasy world...uhh...duh...I do! That's why I paint fairies and cute stuff! LOL but overall he was very proud of me and kept asking me if I needed more art supplies...hehe I was like"uhh...I need a break!" but I know I will be painting again in a few hours! Hello Hello!

First thing I have to say is that I am better and so happy to be back here with my blog friends! :) This week has been so busy, I am almost done with all the paintings that will be entered in the Art Show. Sunday is the big day and I am super excited! I was looking through all the paintings I have done and noticed that I do not have a Frida painting....so I have been asking myself do I still have time to paint one more? Maybe. hehe By the way, I do have to show you all a painting I have just finished today, and since I have seen so many wonderful bloggers painting Halloween themes...I decided to paint one of my own. :)

This painting is called "Trick or Treat Wickety Witch" or something like that...the name might change but so far I like it! I am so happy to have been able to add crackle texture to this painting and it also glows in the dark! :) Well, I have to go now hope everyone has a wonderful day and if anyone is sick out there I send you healing hugs! :)

Sorry the picture is not so good...but it has texture done with tissue paper...a small wooden door which i made myself and inside that little door is a small painting. The birdies are so cute! Hello Hello Everyone! I have finally finished "The Dandelion Princess" I think she came out pretty good and is ready for the art show in September. :)

Hello, How is everyone? I hope everyone has been doing well. I just wanted to share some sketches my sister has been doing lately. She loves cats(she has 6!) and she is very talented yet she lacks the motivation. I will be joining other artist in September for an event called "Art In The Park" and I want my sister to be able to experience this because I tell her that her cat sketches (which will soon be painted) are very cute and many people will like them. Hello!!! I am here to show you all a new painting I'm working on...She is going to be called "The Dandelion Princess." I still have so much work to do on her but I'm getting there! Also, I am almost finished with "The Blue Princess painting as you can see....I am just stuck...trying to figure out what color to paint the swirly things behind her...ugh! Star Wars Cookies

Hi everyone, it' s been a busy week preparing for my son's birthday party and I wanted to show you what I made as table centerpieces. It took me 2 days to finish these cookies because each character is hand made(no molds used) out of fondant. I tried my best to make them look like the characters; C3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. I had also made Yoda but he didn't really make it on a cookie because I didn't feel like baking anymore...ugh. Any ways, then I baked the sugar cookies...prepared the royal icing, and then I was done! If anyone wants the sugar cookie recipe just let me know! :) Well, I am taking the day to relax today and watch movies with my kids. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! Bye

I am so happy to be back...I have been having fun with my kids and not much painting has been done...but somehow I found some time to finish a painting that I have been working on since May...yep...that painting has been on my desk that long! Well, I have been working on my first hand sewn, hand painted doll, and here she is! I think she came out pretty cute...don't you think? I wanted to try something new... Hello everyone! School is over and kids are at home...it is HARD!!!LOL Well, I am constantly keeping them entertained and trying to take them out as much as possible...not too much though the weather here is extremely hot and humid...to tell you that it will be 100 degrees the whole week!Ugh Any ways, I have posted a pic of my brothers and sister and kids crab fishing at "El Puente De Los lobos"(The Wolves Bridge)they had so much fun even though we only caught one crab.lol Either way, I was very happy to see them enjoy themselves and they can't wait to go again! Well, this Tuesday we will be going to the beach which is 30 minutes away. I need to get everything ready and apart from that my son's Birthday is coming up and he wants a Star Wars theme...I am so exhausted just thinking about it...hehe

Hello to all my blogger friends, I just wanted to say Thank you for all the wonderful comments in my "Little Boy" Post. Unfortunately I am still sick...I somehow got the chickenpox virus again called Shingles and I have been in so much pain because this virus has affected the nerves on the right side of my stomach and back. I have to be on pain medication 24/7 until this goes away...if it ever goes away, but while I am not feeling any pain I am here and happy and know that life has to go on and I have to be strong for my family. :)

Goodmorning! :)

Well, my Title for today is "Do you believe in Fairies?" My answer is "Yes" I do! I think that if you don't hold on to some part of your childhood innocence, you wouldn't be able to imagine or create all the wonderful things that we artist do!

The reason why I went for this title is because I loved the 2003 movie version of Peter Pan...In one of the scenes Tinkerbell has drank poison intended for Peter, but instead Tinkerbell drinks it and dies. Peter is devastated and wishes with all his heart for her to come back to him so he starts repeating over and over "I do believe in fairies, I do, I do!" so Tinkerbell comes back to life...that scene always makes my 4 year old daughter cry, and then I cry...hehe

Hi everyone, I am so excited about today...First of all my brother came home after 2 years of not seeing him because he was serving in the U.S Marine Corps. :) He has finally finished and is ready to eat all the Mexican food my mom can cook for him! hehe

Hi everyone, I love Greek mythology and overall, any fantasy creature that has ever been imagined or created! I decided to draw Persephone...she was stolen by Hades god of the underworld. Well, I have been seeing American Idol (I'm a fan) and I am totally into one of the idols by the

name of Adam Lambert...he is like awesome! I love when he does the high pitched vocals. As

you can see my playlist has some of his songs. I just wanted to share this with you all cuz I

haven't finished my mermaid painting...ugh...I wish I could just sit and paint all day, that is one

of my dreams...hehe you know how writers have... what do you

Hi everyone! I am so happy to be back, I had problems with my laptop....:(
First, my charger messed up and then my computer got a virus. :( I feel like I've missed out on so much, especially everyones beautiful art!:) Well, now that I have my laptop back and like new, I will be on most of the time to comment and show some of the work that I have done. Hello Everyone, I made something new today and here they are! These are two little charms. I plan to make them into necklaces or pins, I still don't know, but they are made of polymer clay and I added glass beads to them...took me forever but I finished! Sorry the pic is so bad, I will try to take a better one tomorrow. Bye :)

Cute Bunnies for Easter

I thought that I would share these bisque bunnies that I just painted, since we are so near to Easter and all! I love Easter...I don't know if it's the serenity of the pastel colors or the flowers or the kids laughter as they search for easter eggs but I love it! My bunnies are available on Ebay. Well, it is finally Saturday and I was looking at new posts and I came upon HopeinTheHeartofDarkness.blogspot.com she mentions Pink Saturday...I was like hmm...interesting and I kept on reading she says to read the details on http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/06/so-just-what-is-pink-saturday.html and I liked the idea...so next week I will post my first Pink Saturday pic. I thought it was a neat idea cuz I'm a girl and I like Pink! :p

My daughter surprises me all the time...she is very talkative and has a huge imagination! She spends her day watching Dora the Explorer or dressing up as a fairy or princess...I adore watching her dance around in her costumes! Well, today she was in her room she came into the kitchen with a playdoh sculpture. She said " Look mommy I made a wallet!" I could not believe she made this...and it really does look like a wallet...a wallet made of playdoh and an old shiny gold ring as an embellishment! I had to take a picture of it so I could show you all...what do you think?

Good Morning everyone! :) I am happy to say that yesterday I finished One! Yes...one of the center pieces for my daughter's birthday party! (I have to make ten by Sunday! gulp!!) I think that they are so cute! My husband...said "Wow, they are really nice...I didn't think they would come out this way?!" I was like "Wha...t? You doubt my creativity and craftiness?!" and he just looked at me and walked out of the room. hehe He prefers to be quiet, when we deal with art stuff! lol Any ways, I really had no clue as to what I was going to make for the table centerpieces but I just went with my artistic intuition and Voilà these little framed paintings came out! Yey! Hope everyone likes them at the party! :) Bye

Hi everyone I decided to post something new and here it is!!

I decided to make a peek-a-boo custom made Tinkerbell invitation for my daughter's birthday! I usually just buy the store kind invitations but i was thinking..."you are kinda crafty America, maybe you should just do them yourself this year"...and so this is what I got, this is just a sample but I will change the color of the card stock. I got this great idea from Jenntravis on YouTube. She also has her website kiyomikrafts.com I just wanted to share this and hope I get some feedback. Bye! :)

Hello, just wanted to post something for Valentines Day but I'm a little late like always! hehe Well, I decided to share this photograph because it was taken on Valentines Day even though it says 2/16/09(my camera is not programmed right...grrr! lol) Well, my husband is not the affectionate type, but he came up with this idea. He said "Babe what if we get this drawing done as tattoos and i was like "Huh?" Then he said " Yeah, you have one half of the heart and I have the other one and when we hold hands we will form a heart!" and I was like "Awwwwwwww" and then I was shocked,(lol) and i was like "Who are you and what have you done with my husband??!!" Well, I was surprised by his idea and it was really sweet, now I know that deep down inside him a romantic guy exists! lol He has been a great support in my life and with my artwork! So this post is dedicated to all the out of the blue romantic moments men have and to my husband that I love with all my heart!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my page! First of all I think that I have to be more consistent and a little bit more organized with this blog but well many things have happened....In the month of September I attended an art show it was called "Art in the Park" there were many artists, and I really didn't take many pictures of the show, but now I know that next time I should! Hello...it's Saturday and I decide to go to the Fleamarket. It's one of my favorite places because you can find such neat stuff/antiques. I'm a figurine collector, so I look for cute ones and also antique type. I've found a beautiful porcelin figurine of a girl and I bought it for $1.50, i found one on ebay and it sold for $40.00!!! what a bargain! See...when you go to the flea market you have to keep your eyes open and trust your gut...and not show to much emotion on the item because then the seller raises the price! lol Any ways, I also look for paintings and a couple of months ago I walked past a stand that had estate sale stuff...I really didn't care for much in that stand but suddenly out of the corner of my eye...like this spark...(my head almost turned like the exorcist movie) I saw a canvas! It was very dirty but when I turned it around...I saw the most beautiful painting...I bought it for $2.00! I was happy and my husband was just looking at me weird...lol Well, I got home and cleaned it and Vuala! It looks much better now...and it found a home...awww Okay bye everyone!

Okay well...I decided to put up one more blog because I found some interesting paintings that I wanted to show. The first painting is my favorite...it stands in my living room...and it was done around 2002 in my 3 dimensional art class. I was a teachers pet.hehe well I always wait till the last minute to finish something and we had a month but I ended up painting it in the last week! It was hard work...especially when Jesus just wasn't coming out right! or the nose was crooked...or one eye was bigger than the other but what else could i do but pray...I said"God give me a little hand here please"and he did. True Story well, I got an A..the end.
The painting of the snake has been in my closet for about a year now...maybe 2...it is not finished but I think it is pretty cool. It is done in Acrylic and it is about Eve and the Snake yet Eve is not finished...maybe now that it is out of the closet I will get to work on it. Bye
